In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, the Spunt Carin team had the opportunity to participate in a workshop and guided tour at the McCord Stewart Museum focused on Indigenous voices of today and Allyship in action. The experience offered a powerful and thoughtful space for learning, reflection and dialogue.
The guided tour highlighted historical and contemporary Indigenous perspectives, stories and artistic expressions. Through art and lived narratives, the exhibition emphasized the importance of listening to and supporting Indigenous voices throughout the year and not just on this day.
Our guide provided valuable context and insight on the ongoing struggle toward reconciliation. The visit served as a reminder of the shared responsibility to educate ourselves and acknowledge past and present realities to contribute to a more respectful and inclusive future.
We are grateful to the McCord Stewart Museum for hosting this impactful experience and for creating a space to engage with Indigenous voices.
