On Friday, March 1st the Spunt & Carin team fundraised for Action Santé Travesti(e)s et Transexuel(le)s du Québec [ASTT(e)Q]. In exchange for donating as part of our Spunt & Carin Gives Back our team wore jeans for the day. This was Me Claire Lawrence’s chosen cause. With each chosen charity, there’s an opportunity for our team to learn more about the work and objective of each organization.
The ASTT(e)Q is an organization who assists the trans community in Montreal. Founded in 1989, their objective is to support the medical and social needs of trans adults and youth in the greater Montreal area. Me Lawrence came to know of this organization during her time in law school. She became a part a community of students who gave legal information to members of the trans community, giving them guidance on the legal process that would assist in their transition, legally changing their name for example.
