For January 2026 “SC Gives Back” Jean day, our stagiaire, Jeremy, chose to highlight Project Genesis, a community organization dedicated to ensuring that residents of Montreal have access to social justice and the essential resources they need to live with dignity.
About Project Genesis
Project Genesis is a grassroots community organization based in Côte-des-Neiges that supports individuals living in the neighbourhood by helping with housing issues and accessing healthcare and other government programs.
Through its individual services and community organizing efforts, Project Genesis works to address the root causes of poverty and exclusion while providing one-on-one help. It serves as a bridge for community members who may feel overwhelmed by the bureaucracy of social programs by offering them clear information and advocacy.
Supporting rights and housing security
The work done by Project Genesis is a lifeline for those facing precarious living situations. Their primary areas of impact include:
