Léonie Bordeleau

Léonie Bordeleau is a lawyer at Spunt & Carin since 2022. She was called to the Barreau du Quebec after having obtained her Bachelor in Law (LL.L) from University of Ottawa and a Masters in criminal and penal law at Université de Sherbrooke (LL.M)

Prior to joining the firm, she practiced in the domains of family, criminal and penal law litigation, which are sometimes all intrinsically connected particularly when it comes to domestic violence. She has also assisted other jurists in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec on various family law and youth protection mandates.

Me Bordeleau has appeared regularly before the Superior Court and the Court of Quebec in several districts and courthouses across the province and has had the opportunity to work on several high-profile criminal and constitutional cases.

Léonie Bordeleau - Family, Criminal And Penal Law Litigation Lawyer Montreal

In September 2018, Me Bordeleau was published in the Canadian Journal of Children’s Rights with respect to the issues and impacts of systematic shared custody orders without the careful consideration of the best interest of the children involved, entitled “Shared Custody: the utopia of the courts’ magical thinking, 2018”.

Me Bordeleau works tirelessly to protect her clients and is committed to every one of them. She strives to ensure that they understand the legal steps to put them at ease through what could seem like a complicated process. She also strives to simplify and expedite the process by finding tailor made solutions for her clients.

Me Bordeleau is a firm believer in the presumption of innocence and social rehabilitation, and the protection of your rights guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which every person subject to justice and State is entitled to. When it comes to family law, protection and enforcement of children’s rights and the conservation of marital assets are guiding principles to her practice.

In her spare time, Me Bordeleau volunteers at an animal shelter on Montreal’s South Shore. Animal welfare is a cause that is very close to her heart.
