Claire Lawrence

Claire Lawerence was called to the Quebec bar in 2022, following completing her articles at Spunt & Carin. She obtained her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from McGill University in 2020 as well as her Bachelor of Arts in French language from the University of Victoria in 2016. Claire worked with a sole practitioner during law school, where she developed a passion for family law and she learned to work with many different family law mandates.

Claire’s passion for family law is in part rooted in her interest in the modernization of the law with respect to LGBTQ+ rights. Claire was a caseworker with the McGill Trans Legal Clinic, where she provided the Montreal trans community with legal information and support. She was also an organizing member of the McGill School of Social Work’s Trans Youth and Family Journal Watch, which examined social and legal issues regarding queer families with academics and community professionals.

Her commitment to human rights and compassionate nature allow her to treat every client with empathy, care, and precision.
