Me Sheri Spunt founded the firm in 2017 which started off in her home under the name Sheri M. Spunt, Avocate. Not long after that as new lawyers joined the practice, we added an “s” and changed the name of the firm to Sheri M. Spunt, Avocats. As the firm has grown, we continue to build a law firm that reflects our core values. When asked “how we do what we do” the answer is simple: we are given the opportunity to help our clients that are at their most vulnerable moment of their lives and take them through the process. Our clients leave our offices in a better place and onto the next chapter of their lives.

In 2020, Me Alexander Carin, who has also practiced family law his whole career joined the firm. Together, Me Sheri Spunt and Me Alexander Carin strive for excellence in order to offer the best representation for their clients.

In March 2021, the firm reached an incredible milestone. We opened a new office in Westmount and changed the name of the firm to Spunt & Carin. The office was designed just for us and offers our clients a vibrant and welcoming space. We are very proud of the brilliant team we have built, who share the same passion of the practice and the understanding of the vulnerability of our clients, who are seeking our assistance at one of the most challenging times in their lives.

Our goal, whenever possible, is to settle our files amicably and to obtain a result that is fair and justified. However, in cases where an out-of-court settlement is not possible, our lawyers are seasoned litigators and ready to fight for your rights.

The model of the firm is designed for our clients to obtain experienced representation at conservative costs. Me Spunt  has worked in family law throughout her entire practice. She practised in Montreal, as well as in Toronto, and her pedigree comes from the most seasoned and reputable attorneys in the field. Her drive is based on her determination to help everyone who walks through the door and her goal is for each client to leave us in a better place than when they walked in. This drives the firm to strive for excellence and to make a difference in the daily lives of our clients. Me Carin  has worked on a wide range of files in family law. He is a very strong negotiator and a great litigator. His calm approach has proven to be extremely effective. Me Spunt and Me Carin complement each other very well. They do not always agree on the same strategy, however it is exactly that which generates a creative and thorough approach to the service we offer.

Me Etingin has been part of our team since the very beginning. She was still a law student when she met Me Spunt. It was clear early on that they would make a perfect team. Me Etingin started with the firm part-time as a law student. She then completed her articling with us and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2018 and the New York Bar in 2019. Me Etingin is a compassionate and meticulous lawyer. She is client-oriented and always works to find the most efficient solution for her clients.

Me Akhtemiychuk joined our team in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Me Akhtemiychuk worked for the Community Justice Center of Montreal where she was able to help defend the rights of vulnerable populations. She is empathetic and committed to helping her clients with her gentle and honest approach. Her guiding principle is that everyone deserves a supportive environment to navigate their challenges.
