Family Law Lawyer

Role Description

We are currently seeking a lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in family law. The lawyer will be responsible for handling a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, youth protection, adoption, successions and domestic violence matters. On a day-to-day basis, the lawyer will be called upon to draft legal documents, appear in court, conduct client consultations, negotiate with the opposing counsel and conduct legal research.

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing with the Quebec Bar
  • At least 5 years of experience in family law
  • Experience in negotiations and family litigation
  • Strong knowledge of family law, including divorce, child custody and support
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple cases
  • Strong client management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French. Please note that due to the nature of responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate with clients.
